Notification issued to extend Rangers' powers in Karachi for 90 days
The Rangers were given powers under Section-5 of the Anti Terrorism Act, 1997.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Interior Ministry has issued notification regarding the extension in powers and stay of Rangers in Sindh. As per details, the powers of Rangers have been extended for another 90 days.
The grant of extension to the special authority to the Rangers was given from October 4, 2019 and will expire on January 1, 2020.
The Rangers had been given powers under Section-5 of the Anti Terrorism Act, 1997 according to which Rangers were authorised to conduct a raid and arrest accused.
